Grilling amongst the falling leaves…
I still haven’t gotten used to having a grill – so when I did my shopping this weekend, I deliberately bought some rib eye steaks to motivate me. And found the perfect recipe!

I briefly thought about Bloody Mary Steaks, but those used a different cut of beef – and I only repeat myself when it is requested, or I’m just plain out of inspiration. That hit, in a big way…Late Saturday night, as I was catching up on my Tivo’d shows, I saw Nick Stellino make a Sicilian Steak. It starts with a combination similar to pesto crossed with a well-seasoned tomato sauce. Use half to marinate your meat, and reserve the other half to serve along side.

Nick’s recipe includes both grilling and broiling instructions, and on the show he actually used a grill pan on his stovetop. Use whichever method you feel most comfortable with, but use it!

The steak and sauce is a juicy, flavorful meal all by itself – I served some steamed broccoli, which went perfectly with the reserved marinade… A little pasta with some of the sauce would be a perfect side dish as well, but I didn’t feel any need for carbs – I simply savored the meat. You will, too

ps. IF you have any meat leftover, it is a perfect addition to a salad the next day!
