Onion Bites
I saw this a while back, and thought it would be a great first course, or better yet, an incredible appetizer. With all the flavors of French Onion Soup, Rachael’s ”bites” made with store bought puff pastry dough and Gruyere cheese are bound to please. Sort of an "Onion Blossom", without all the oil… The recipe says to use onions two inches in diameter – that would be for a first course. I’d suggest using the tiny onions that are “designed” for pickling or planting – or even canned or jarred pearl onions if you want an appetizer. It’s a little more labor intensive to make the smaller ones, but worth the effort. I’m thinking this would be great for the present opening time on Christmas Day?
