Culture Clash!
I decided that I had to clean out my freezer – it’s been hectic, and I had lost track of what was in there. Plus, it was getting kind of full…

The ingredients for a gumbo were there: boneless, skinless chicken thighs, anduille sausage, even some peppers… but who wants to slave over a stewpot this time of year?So Cajun meets Asian – I decided to stir fry them! With a few sliced onions, a little stock, tomato paste and some hot sauce, the flavors would work and it all would take very little time. But how do I serve it?

I thought rice would be ideal – suits both styles, right? So I boiled some up while I tossed the quick cooking ingredients – then another inspiration hit, and I tossed the rice into the mix. I went a step (or should I say ‘style’ or country’?) further. With some fresh lettuce, cheese and tortillas, I made it all into tacos! Ok, a wrap, but you get the idea.

My Cajun Stir-Fried Tacos were a hit! Restaurants call it “fusion” – I just call it smart.
