Some Fall Comfort Foods – with style
Once again the “Chef on a Shoestring” segment on CBS’ Saturday Early Show comes through!

Using roasted pumpkin and fried celery root in a salad is not in my normal repertoire – but I’ll try anything once wink The crumb topped apple tart is fairly traditional…

But what caught my attentionwas the Lobster Mac & Cheesequestion?!!? Now, while I have added many an item to a basic Mac ‘n’ Cheese, seafood was never on my list. But think about it – lobster is one of those seafood items that is usually served with lots of butter. Butter? Sweet creamy cheese? Surprisingly, the cost of lobster has been at a record low – for lobster, that is. Don’t want to kill it and partition it yourself? There are many options to purchase, both frozen and fresh. If the budget is really tight (though this menu promises to be about 40 bucks) – there is always that fish product designed to look like lobster. Use clam juice instead of poaching with that version… It never hurts to explore and try new things – this is on my “to do” list.
